A Look Inside iPlace

We took a little lunchtime field trip last week to the new iPlace store downtown. They haven’t had their “grand opening” yet, but the store is open for people to walk in and browse around. The store itself is in a great location – in the west end of downtown Greenville, which ought to provide with a good amount of foot traffic, with a handful of advertising agencies nearby. We’ll be sure to give an update when we find out when iPlace is having their official opening.

Keys Printing Adobe CS4 Demo

A couple of us are going to be attending the Adobe CS4 demo hosted by Keys Printing coming up on November 14th at the Carolina First Center. We have checked out some of the capabilities that CS4 has to offer and we’re looking forward to seeing them demonstrated live.

I think the features I’m personally most excited about are the multiple artboards in Illustrator, the new content-aware scaling capability in Photoshop and the improved preview in Dreamweaver. I went to a similar seminar at Clemson when they released CS3 and it was really neat to see the software presented at its full capacity.

Free stuff for Greenville voters

Hey Greenville, get out and vote tomorrow! While you’re at it, make sure you get that “I Voted” sticker to score some free food from local restaurants. Here’s what we’ve found so far:

Chick-Fil-A (map): Not sure if this is available at every location, but the restaurant on Haywood Road near our office is advertising 3 free Chicken Strips (edit: with the purchase of a milkshake) with your sticker.

Krispy Kreme (map, website): They’re giving away a star-shaped doughnut with sprinkles.

Starbucks (website): Free cup of coffee just for saying you voted. No sticker required, apparently.

If you’ve found any other local giveaways going on for voters, let us know!

Added 11/4:

Liquid Highway (website): Free cup of coffee.

Silver Chair Bookstore (website): free cup of coffee or tea, as well as 50% off anything in Essays, Commentary, or Philosophy. (Thanks for the heads up Benjamin!)

If you’re up in the Clemson area, Ben & Jerry’s (website) is giving away a free scoop of ice cream.
