Foundation is an extremely advanced, responsive front-end framework for rapid web development. It lays the groundwork CSS and Javascript for smart, mobile-first websites. It also provides some cool tools for creating responsive modal windows, tooltips, custom forms and more. Reverie is an HTML5 WordPress framework that is built on Foundation.

Amazon Web Services S3 + UpdraftPlus Backup
We use a WordPress plugin called UpdraftPlus Backup to make automatic daily backups of all our websites to Amazon’s S3 storage. So no matter what storm comes along, we always have an offsite backup of your database and all your files.

Adaptive Images
Adaptive Images detects your visitors’ screen size and automatically creates caches, and delivers re-scaled versions of your website’s images. Why? Because your site is being increasingly viewed on smaller, slower, low bandwidth devices. On those devices, your desktop-centric images load slowly, cause UI lag, and cost you and your visitor’s un-necessary bandwidth and money. Adaptive Images fixes that.

Modernizr is a JavaScript library that detects HTML5 and CSS3 features in the site visitor’s browser and allows us to write conditional code to provide the best experience for everyone.

Conditionizr is a close cousin to Modernizr. It detects browser vendor, touch features and retina displays allowing us to serve conditional JavaScript and CSS files.

Waypoints is a magical bit of pixie dust that triggers events when a person scrolls to a certain point on a web page. It is typically used for sticky menus, but can be used in numerous creative ways.

Up until a few years ago, your font choices for a website were at the mercy of whatever fonts your site visitor had loaded on their computer. Typekit opens the door to beautiful typography by offering an excellent collection of fonts for use on the web. It is also an extremely fast font server and an indispensable tool for us.

This anti-spambot plugin adds a client side generated checkbox to your blog post comment form asking users to confirm that they are not a spammer. It is more user-friendly than a captcha and because the box is generated via client side javascript that bots cannot see, it stops nearly 99% of all automated spam bots.

Recently Advanced Custom Fields has become one of my favorite tools. This is the tool I use to make our clients’ lives easier. This makes it super easy to add user-friendly fields to custom post types for things such as portfolio items, properties, products, etc.
