San Francisco was founded in 1776 by colonists from Spain and currently ranks as the second-most densely populated major city in the U.S. In 1849 it became the largest city on the West Coast as a result of rapid growth related to the California Gold Rush, which brought in a flood of treasure hunters. When you think about San Francisco you might have thoughts of the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, Alcatraz, and Chinatown.
San Francisco is home to several major banking institutions and many notable companies including Dropbox, Levi Strauss & Co., Airbnb, Uber, Twitter, Gap Inc., Yelp, and Dolby to name a few. It has been given many nicknames with the most recognizable being “San Fran”, “Frisco”, and “The City by the Bay”.
Professional sports can also be found in San Francisco including the MLB’s San Francisco Giants baseball team who have produced many great players such as Barry Bonds and Willie Mays. The NFL is also well represented by the San Francisco 49ers football team. The San Francisco Marathon draws more than 20,000 runners and over 2,000 triathletes gather each year for the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon.
In the eastern San Francisco Bay across from San Francisco is the city of Alameda. It is home to Pueen, a cosmetics company who contacted us about doing some graphic design and packaging work for their line of products. Specifically, they needed packaging for their Nail Stamp Starter Kit, Stamping Polish Line, and Latex Tape. We also shot some photography to be included on some of the packaging lines.
